This box was created in honor of the Parish Hill Hover Team. Each year the Principles of Technology class builds at least one functioning full sized hovercraft. The team travels to Chillicothe Ohio each June to compete in the HoverClub of America's Hoverally. Check out their website! www.parishhill.org under Technology Education for more info. They've been featured in Popular Mechanics Magazine and on CPTV's Positively Connecticut with Diane Smith.

This box is located at a public school. It would be best to look for it when school is not in session. Thanks!

Find your way to Parish Hill Jr/Sr High School which is located at 304 Parish Hill Road in Chaplin. Your best bet will be to use Mapquest or similar. There is no real direct route to the school. If you aren't familiar with the area, it may trickier to find the school than the box!
Enter the drive to the school and bear left to the parking lot behind the school. Park opposite the large storage building with vertical wood siding. As you look at the woods you will see an opening in the trees that opens to power lines. There is a three trunked tree on the right side of the opening. Go through this opening to 4 round septic tank covers and a utility box. From here you will see a trail going to the left following the power lines. At the moment (Fall 2007) it is marked with pvc poles and pink plastic tape for the cross country team. I don't know if the poles will remain up after the season is over or not. Soon there will be a fork in the trail to the right. Follow this fork rather than continuing under the power lines. Very shortly you will pass between two trees at the opening of a messy stone wall. The tree on the right guards the path by sticking a fat "toe" out into the path. From this tree follow the stone wall on the right for just under two paces. You are looking for a small (grapefruit sized) stone that is lighter than all the others. Look behind this stone and under a darker, larger flat stone for the Flying Pirates letterbox. You will not need to leave the path to find the box. Stamp in and rehide well!
