Happy Holiday
Labor Day
I will be changing out the stamp for different holidays. I will put the current holiday in the clue in case anyone wants to revisit for a different holiday stamp. I plan to retire this box around end of Sept. 2008.
This stamp is located in Stream Valley Park in Broadlands, VA. From Rte. 7, take Claiborne Pkwy. south. After you go through the light at Broadlands Blvd., make a right on Vestal’s Gap Drive. There will be a white crosswalk painted on the street. Park right around there.
Take the path on the side of the street that heads toward Forest Folly, (not Oak Tree Grove). You will pass a gazebo on the left. Keep on the path heading toward Robin’s Ring.
Kids – play on the playground at Robin’s Ring.
Adults – sit on the bench and listen for robins and other birds.
Keep on the path heading toward Native Tree Park. Go over one bridge. At the T go left (in the opposite direction from the North Playground.) Cross another bridge and choose a path at the Y to enter into Native Tree Park. There are many informational signs posted. Find the sign informing you about the igneous rocks. While reading, look into the woods and see a large tree. Behind that tree is a small diabase rock. Here you will find the Happy Holiday letterbox. Happy Holiday!!!
