New Story SEPT 2011 Island Fox New Burrow about 1 hr hike from Harbor Reef Ice Cream or Bar.
---------------------------------------------------------
The shy little fox almost got wiped out by a Landslide this winter of 2011, but she move quickly about a block away towards the west end. She went done to the Isthmus Bar for another buffalo milk then walked back towards the west end on the road past Cherry Cove and Lions Head, past the terrible landslide. Then just a ways past on her left at a prominence there was a fine rusty water pipe and elbow that stood up strong like it has been there for a hundred years. She zigged scrambled up about two yards to that rusty pipe with the elbow on top and tried to crawl in but did not fit. So she zagged to the left and snugged into an old tree in its trunk that is visible from the road. Her burrow is plastic-y with a rock firmly glued on top. Pretty dirty colored. No cactus around! When she looks out she can see Eagles reef had a red buoy across the road in the sea and a double telephone pole with a prominent X in its structure. She is past Lions Head now and over another head that looks like a Frog or Toad. She wants you to visit soon!

NEW STORY 2007

After being dragged off her island home, the fox was held captive by the GeoCaching community which then quickly realized they where dorks and returned her safely to her mothers den. She then needed a vacation badly so she went up to San Luis Obispo and attended a Stamp Fest where she met many nice folks. But now she longed to return to her island so on Memorial Day -6/1/2004 she sailed the fine vessel Ripple back to Catalina. Little fox started at Doug's Harbor Reef Saloon patio bar where she had a Buffalo Milk or three to drink to muster her strength. Sitting there, she realized that this is not where a little fox should be. She was taken back to the boat and sailed towards the setting sun.

Directions from Two Harbors:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
To get from the Doug's Harbor Reef Buffalo Milk Bar to her burrow you would leave the bar and walk west towards the place where the "Parson landed". Take this walk on the mainland side of the island. You would walk and walk past Fourth of July and Cherry Cove and past the point with "head of the large carnivorous cat". Probably about 1 for 1 1/2 hour from Two Harbors.

THE BURROW: On this point "Head of the large toad or frog" there is a large power double pole has an X as of 2011 in its wood, The scramble up the slope is about two yards of zig then you are at a rusty pipe then a about the same of zag and the box in stuck in-the ground at the low bush tree limbs.

Enjoy the view and donate some love to the fox foundations below!
