This letterbox is located at Lakeview Park about 1/2 mile north of the city limits of Janesville, Minnesota. There are several white-tailed deer and two or three emus living inside large fenced areas at the park.
From the one traffic light in the center of town, drive north on Main St. almost 2 miles to where the street ends at Lake Elysian. Straight ahead of you will be the entrance to one of the parking lots at Lakeview Park. Park in this parking lot. Walk through the opening in the gate, past the playground and bathhouse, until you come to the fishing dock. Stop here and enjoy the scenery. Continue along the lake edge through the paved parking lot for launching boats. At the far end of the lot, look ahead about fifty steps and you should see the cement dam with a metal fence rail. Go ahead and cross. Count 127 steps down the trail along the lake edge. About 6 steps to the left of the trail there is a wooden and fallen down duckhouse at the base of a dead tree. The letterbox is inside the duckhouse. If it is missing, PLEASE email me.
If you want to enjoy a scenic hike, you may continue but be warned, I got cut by some barbed wire stretched across the ground at the end of the trail!
