Go to the West Hartford Reservoir located on Farmington Ave. route 4. Park in the new lot and follow the path for the red loop.
Easy hike of around three miles.

When you get to the main road around the res turn left and follow the white line until you get within sight of water (reservoir #3) ahead of you. There's also a map board there but no map. Before either of these, there's a paved road on the left that you need to take. The pavement soon disintegrates but follow the road until a 4 way intersection. Left is a blue blazed trail that will eventually take you to route 4 and right goes to blue storage tanks so stay straight for approximately 25 feet to where the blue blazed trail goes into the woods to the right. Stay on blue (walking past Think Pink) and while going uphill look right for a glimpse of the blue storage tanks. At the next intersection go right onto a more "open" trail, finding a blaze part way up on a boulder to the right.
"At the top of the hill the trail turns left back into the woods. Continue on the blue trail as it winds and climbs up and up toward the top. Look for a three sister tree right on the trail to the left with lots of blues blazes on it. From this tree site 220 degrees...."to a cave made from an overhang, bushwhack over there and find the box wedged under the left corner of the cave. Rehide well, this might be a good party spot.

You may retrace your steps or continue up and over this tremendous rock, this is supposed to be a loop but I lost the blazes at the far end, so if you zig zag your way down the left side, you'll come to a paved road, turn right (after checking out the rock) and then another right puts you back onto the blue trail.
