June 2009 - This box was apparently destroyed, some time ago... all that work....ugh!

It was early in the morning on Sept. 30th. "Yipee!" Jack thought, as he woke up. "Today is my birthday! I never had one of those before!" For Jacks special day the family was going to their favorite park to play. This is a special park because you don't ever need a RESERVATION, and even though you can't see it, near this park, THE SUN is always up. So, they arrived at the park and parked near the playground. They enjoyed some time on the playscape... Mommy pushed Jack on the swings, and Daddy showed Jack that he could climb all the way over the domed bar structure without falling! Go ahead, Daddy - try it! After a while they decided to exit the park on the S side. They continued walking SE through the parking lot and came upon some picnic tables. "This would be a great spot to have lunch!" Jack thought. "I want to bring my Auntie Lynne here some day! She would love it here!" Jack was right, his Auntie Lynne would love it there...especially that third picnic table from the left. Jack and his Mommy and Daddy sat at that picnic table to take a little rest. They noticed something a little peculiar a few steps away and to the S, at the edge of the woods. A path! A path made entirely out of seashells! Millions of pieces of white seashells! They carefully made their way down the path, being sure to keep their shoes on! They continued NE on the path for a short distance and came to an intersection. To their right they had a nice view of the water (and a steep hill down to the train tracks!) As they looked around at the pretty surroundings Jack noticed something...it looked like the biggest "W" he had ever seen in his whole life...(which was one whole year!) He thought, "Hey! A "W!" "W" for Walter! I know someone special named Walter!" And all of a sudden, from behind a tree, Jacks whole family jumped out and yelled "Happy Birthday!" His Grandpa and Memere, his Grandma, all his Aunts, Uncles and cousins...everyone was there to show Jack how much they love him and what a special little boy he is. If you look behind the tree, under the roots and rocks, you'll find something special too!

*This is the first letterbox that I am placing! It is in honor of our nephew (and Godson's) first birthday! We gave the clues to him (and his parents) as part of his birthday gift, along with a compass...and we all went out one morning to be the first visitors to the box! Now I am posting the clues for all of you! They go there often, so we thought it would be a perfect place for them to be able to check in and see who has stopped by Jacks "Birthday Party!"

We had so much fun doing this! My husband (Jacks Uncle Mark) thought of the location for the box, the stamp is one that I designed myself, and I have to thank our good friend Luv2fish for his beautiful craftmanship, willingness to carve this stamp, and to be a part of this special event with us. Luv2fish is new to letterboxing and this stamp is one of his first works! Hope you have a good time at the "Birthday Party!"

(You might want to press your paper from behind, up onto the stamp for maximum coverage!)
