This box is found at the Mill Mountain Star.
Directions:
I-81 exit 143. I-581 exit 6. Right onto Elm Ave./Rte 24.� Pass hospital, left at 2nd light onto Jefferson St. Left at 4th light onto Walnut Ave., which becomes Parkway Spur Rd. At top of mountain, right at Mill Mountain Park sign.
Park in the parking lot behind the Star. Take a leisurely walk and enjoy the view of the Roanoke Valley from the overlook in front of the Star. Then walk back to the parking lot and walk behind the Star.
Look for the sign for the Star Trail. Pass between the two big rocks at the head of the trail. You will come to another Star Trail sign and you will turn right and head down the small marked path.
Go down the three rock steps.
Go past the tree in the middle of the path.
Go past the tree on the left with a yellow trail marker.
Go past the three pronged tree on your right.
Go past the tree on the right with a yellow trail marker.
Trail turns sharply to the left.
(Be careful, the path is rocky)
Trail turns sharply back to the right again.
Go down one step but at the grey post trail marker, head straight out into the woods.
Keep on a straight path and go under a lean-to tree.
If you look up the hill to your left, you will see a large rock out crop.
Keep going straight until you see a tree stump that is pointing to the right.
If you look down the hill, you will see a mouse house in the base of a large tree. This is where you will find the letterbox.
