We have been going to Cape Cod for thirty years for a Halloween Hang Glider Fly-In Weekend. This is part three of three series to remember our favorite restaurants.
Wellfleet - part Three
Letterbox One:
Travel out of Truro on RT 6. and take the turn to go into Wellfleet Center.
Although mostly found by the shore, there is a "LH" on Main St. (#317 if you need a hint). One of the few places still open this late in the season. Hungry Hang Glder Pilots have enjoyed many breakfasts here.
The "LH" letterbox is a small HIDE A KEY letterbox, with a mini log book, just enough room for your trail name and date...NO INK PAD. Go down the alley to the right of the building and find it attached to a metal box on the side of the building.
Letterbox Two:
Continue on down to the harbor, keep bearing right till you pass the WHAT. Look towards your right for the "BS" restaurant on your right. Good night life, great food, and a used book store in the back. Park in the lot on the left side of the building.
As you walk towards the front of the restaurant, notice an electric box nestled in the bushes. The "BS letterbox is stuck to the bottom. It is a small HIDE A KEY letterbox, with a mini log book, just enough room for your trail name and date...NO INK PAD.
Serious discretion is needed.. YOU CAN BE SEEN!
