This is the cousin of "BigMouth Frog" so you start out the same. From the South, take I-271 to Wilson Mills exit. Head East to Rt. 91. Go North to North Chagrin Park entrance, Sunset Road opposite White Road. Enter park to first cross road and turn right, pass Oxbow Road intersection and continue to large picnic pavillion on left. Park in designated area in front of the pavilion. This is Forest Lane. From the North, take I-90 and exit Rte. 91. Turn South, pass Chardon Road to entrance mentioned above.
After parking, start hiking on the gravel path that is on the right side of the parking area, next to the horseshoe court. Continue Straight ahead. Starting at the kiosk, take the Sylvan Loop Trail (Maple leaf sign). Pass a bench, cross a foot bridge and then another bench - all the while crossing past cross roads. When you come to the first Squire's Castle sign (naturally a castle),on the post (on your left side)turn left. You will cross another foot bridge and a bridle trail and then on your left you will come to the Arthur B. Williams memorial rock. Great place to contemplate nature on a nice bench and thank those with foresight to start and develop our Metroparks. Now, continue back on the same trail till you come to another bench to rest right before steps down that lead you over another foot bridge. 15 paces (2 steps per pace) after the bridge enter the woods on the left hand side. Again take 15 paces to a large, rough-barked tree. Behind is our letterbox. Hope you have as much fun discovering this area as we did. Claire, Willa and Margaret
