Crayfish, also known as crawfish or crawdad, resemble small lobsters. They are found in creeks and streams where there is fresh water running. In Liberty Park many kids have enjoyed looking for crayfish in the creek under rocks and slate in the warm weather.

Location of Liberty Park: Off Rt 422 or Rt 193 find Liberty St. Take Liberty St. to Mosier Rd. (from 422 Mosier will be on the right and from 193 it will be on the left). The entrance will be on the right at the bottom of a steep hill on Mosier Rd. Turn into the park and go through the parking lot. Make a right and go over the red bridge. Park on the right just over the bridge by the first set of swings. Walk along the creek, keeping the swings to your left. Follow the path that goes into the woods. Follow this path until it starts to curve and make a U turn. As you come around the U turn look to your right. See that VERY large downed tree? Towards the middle of this tree, on the other side, in a Y you will find the box. While there, see the tree shaped like an n? Look for the birds nest sitting on the top of the n. Cool, huh?

HAPPY HUNTING
