*Directions revised 6/30/09 due to missing signs.
Find the Nashua River Rail Trail where it passes through Dunstable
You can ride a bike or walk
(Hint: look between the "River Streets")
Locate the sign "Cattle Underpass"
********Note--this sign has disappeared.
New directions--
Locate the sign --"Unquetynasset Brook"
Beside this sign is a rail fence.
Walking West, toward Pepperell, count 17 fence posts then continuing on in the same direction following the pavement (You will be passing a large pine on your right with a blue spot! ) count 80 steps.
Stop.
If you look left you will see a steep trail.
It will take you down to the "Cattle Underpass," DO NOT TAKE THIS PATH.
Look right across the pavement to spy a trail into the woods
Take that trail and begin counting at the edge of the pavement
Count 25 steps
Face left
Locate the 2nd double trunked pine
On the far side under sticks and leaf litter is your prize
Enjoy!
Please rehide completely--this can be a busy spot.
