04/01/11 update. We have pulled the boxes and will move them to higher ground this summer and give new clues.

Follow Charlton St. from the center of Oxford. Watch for signs for Hodges Village Dam. Park in the upper parking lot.

Approximate time - 45 minutes. Short easy hike. Also great for kids.

Go left behind the Army Corps building. Take a right and proceed down the gravel path. Watch for the hiker sign on the right, and enter here. Step over the telephone pole and proceed down a short trail through the woods to the pond.

You will see a big box on your left, but don't go "blind" looking here. Bearing right, you have a short hike to go. On your right will be a yellow gate, but wait, wait, wait, that's not the place. From the big blue-blazed tree on the right, count 55+/- steps.

Go left at the red & white banded tree and begin counting blue blazes. At blaze #8, turn right 90 degrees and look for the tall majestic one now lying in decay. Start at the base and follow the trunk until you see the beaver's handiwork. Here you will find the red dragon.

After stamping and re-hiding, return to the path and resume your count of blue blazes. From blaze #17, go 22 steps to the V. Go 15 more steps, look to your right and you will see an old foundation. Inside the cellar hole you will see some stones cemented together that may have been part of the old chimney. Behind these lies the blue dragon.

To return to the parking lot, you can either go back the way you came, or continue on the path until it rejoins the main trail. Take a right to return to the pond and the parking area.
