This is the first box that my granddaughter Brooke and I placed. She is a real encourager, as you can tell from the name she chose.
This box is located in Maroney Park, off Maroney Drive, behind Nacogdoches High School, in the northeast part of the city. When you enter the park you will see a playground. Behind and to the right of the playground is a trail. When the trail splits, go to the right. Follow the trail until you come to a wooden bridge. After crossing the bridge, take 30 paces along the trail to a pine tree on the left edge of the trail. The box is in a hole in the tree at ground level. USE A STICK! SNAKES LOVE DARK HOLES!
This box was originally located nearer the creek, but Hurricane Ike blew a tree down across the creek and blocked access to it.
