Go to Kanawha State Forest. Upon entering the park, vear right. Leave your car across from the rest area at Picnic Shelter 1. Cross the foot bridge and turn right onto Davis Creek Trail. Follow the yellow marks on the trees. You will pass the Dam on your right. Now you are walking beside Ellison Pond. This pond is stocked with trout from March to May for youth and class Q fishing. Stop at the 4th yellow mark. On the left is a fallen tree. Carefully step over the log and about 10 feet in front of you is a stump. The stump is now home to three new tress and a letterbox if you please. If you cross a second foot bridge you have gone too far.
Bring your fishing pole and a picnic and make a day of it!
