The Since 1932 Letterbox is located at the oldest winery in Mendocino County. In fact, since 1932. It is a little north of Ukiah right off Highway 101 to the west. If you’re heading south on 101 a couple miles north of Ukiah you will see the name of the winery on two Adopt-a-Highway signs and the exit you want is after exit 555A. Soon you will see signs on your right. Should you be driving from the south you will see a big sign on the west side of the highway right after you've passed Ukiah. Should you cross over York Creek on the highway you have gone too far. Once you are off the freeway follow the signs on the road to this winery. When you get there you may be a little confused since there are some signs which indicate that it may not be the winery alluded to on the highway and other directional signs. You’re at the right place if you note the big old bell several yards to the left of the door as you face it.

Park near the tasting room. Walk behind that building and note the large parking area and the two long large buildings, one approximately to the north and the other to the west. In front of the building to the west are seven big square planter boxes in a row. The letterbox is underneath the fourth square planter. It's a few inches in from the front near the middle a little to the left. The Since 1932 Letterbox should be there.

************Winery staff found the letterbox when they moved the original planter box and are happy to have it there. However, events come and go with planter boxes occasionally being moved. So the letterbox may end up under different planter boxes and in different orientations.*************

Thanks for coming and make sure you shove the letterbox far enough under so it can’t be seen, but not so far that it’s too hard to reach.
