Status of Letterbox: Alive and Well on 3/1/2008
This letterbox is located in LCRA Park - South Lake Bastrop Park. The park offers camping, cabins, picnicing, swimming, boating, hiking, and will be location of the 5th Annual Texas Letterboxing Gathering!
Directions: From Bastrop, go west on Hwy 21 for about 1 mile. Turn left on FM 352 (look for Park sign) and go to entrance on the right. Turn in and pay fee at entry booth. At road junction, go straigt toward boat ramp area. Continue past boat area to the end of the road near the cabins. Circle around and park (you should see trail head left of the end of the cabins as you pass).
To the Letterbox:
Walk to the trail entry for "Fisherman's Trail: Go through. You will pass a wooden railed stream crossing. At trail junction, go right. Stay on the main trail (many small side trails) and continue until you are under the high tension power lines and the tower. Now count 125 steps as you continue on the trail. Stop, and go left off the trail for 12 steps to the back side of a 4 forked oak tree. Letterbox is under the pile of rocks. Please re-pile rocks on top when done!!!
