Take Route 71 (Chamberlain highway) to route 364. After driving past timberland Golf course, another three quarters of a mile will bring you to Edgewood road, turn left, go about half a mile...passing a horse farm with white three railed fences on your right. Soon you will pass the gas lines. After the gas lines you'll see a small parking area with cement barriers on the right.
After parking walk south on Edgewood road for a very short distance to the trail head. Pass through an orange gate onto an old fire road that is a part of the Blue Blaze trail system leading to West Peak in Meriden. You will be following blue blazes the whole way.

The beginning of this trail system is pretty easy walking along an old woods road until you turn right into the woods and start an uphill climb. Stay on blue until you reach the open area for the pipeline (?). Cross this open area, go up and around the large rock ledge on the right, walking across the top of it. You'll have some ledge underfoot and then come to a thigh high ledge on the right. After that ledge watch for the second blue blaze (at the next ledge underfoot) take 20 steps to the right to find a small tree growing out of a small rock ledge. In the roots is a box. (Bring blue ink).

Recover completely.
