This is the first letterbox ever planted in Scott County, Arkansas. It is the first of many I plan to plant here.

The box is located at the Truman Baker Park located along highway 71 just a short distance south of Waldron, AR. The park is closed from dark until 9 a.m. There are several pavilions as well as a small lake. There is no swimming allowed but fishing is encouraged. In fact this is where the local annual fishing derby is held for all the kids.

Park in the provided parking area and enjoy the view of the water. To your north is the lake and a row of pavilions. To the south and uphill is another row of pavilions. The letterbox is located on the hillside.

Make your way over to the second pavilion from the entrance. It is the only one with a trash receptacle. Walk up the stairs and take a seat. Behind you further up the hillside you will notice a limb against the base of a tree. It is just past the tree stump. The box is under that limb and covered with rocks and leaves.

Please be sure to reseal all the baggies in the box and double check to make sure the lid is secured. It can be a little tricky.

I hope you enjoy our box and your visit to this little rest stop.
