Thirsty Fish is located in South Mountain Park. Take the I-10 and exit on Chandler Blvd. You want to head west on Chandler Blvd. Continue on Chandler Blvd until you reach Desert Foothills Pkwy. (You will come to a tricky intersection before Desert Foothills where Chandler Blvd and Ray Rd meet, make sure you stay on Chandler Blvd.) Make a right onto Desert Foothills. Continue for 1.2 miles, then on your right there will be a parking lot for the hiking trails. Pull in and park.
Start at the Telegraph Pass Trailhead. Continue on the trail. When you come to the "Y" bear to the left staying on Telegraph Pass. Soon you will reach a "T" in the path. Take the path to the right toward he Hohokam petroglyphs (make sure you check these out). Follow the wood railing down to the end. When you reach the last wooden railing stand at the far right post. At about 115 degrees N magnetic you will see a barrel cactus about 13 steps away. Walk over to this cactus. Just behind the barrel cactus is a large rock. Under a smaller pile of rocks near this large rock is the letterbox you seek. Make sure you give this thirsty fish some water when you find him! Enjoy.
