This box was originally planted in my yard for my sister’s Girl Scout Troop to help learn about Letterboxing. It will be placed out in the wild for all to find shortly.
The Breast Cancer 3-Day® is a 60-mile walk for women and men who want to make a personal difference in the fight against breast cancer. Participants walk 60 miles in three days and help raise millions of dollars for breast cancer research and patient support programs.
Each night of the event, walkers experience an incredible mobile city that's more than just sleeping tents and warm showers, where they can eat, relax and renew their spirit with their fellow walkers.
The Breast Cancer 3-Day benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. In 2007 after the Dallas, TX Breast Cancer 3-Day® the tents that were used were donated to our local Girl Scout Council and each Troop was given the opportunity to receive some.
After my sister picked up the tents for her Troop they were all set up in my backyard to dry out and be cleaned. It was definitely a site to see.
I am planting this box in my backyard for the girls to find. They will be getting a first finder certificate and a picture of what my yard looked like when the ground turned pink.
I have now planted this letterbox for all to find.
From Van travel 2.7 miles east from the four way stop sign (flashing light). Go North on CR 447 (Van City Lake Rd). Travel 1.3 miles and turn right on unamed asphalt road. Travel almost .1 miles until you get to a group of 5 hardwood trees on your right side. If you get to a tree w/ green spray paint, you have gone to far. The box is located in the group of hardwoods with next to the small cedar on the right. Look at the base of the tree under the usual debris. Be careful of thorns.
Thank you for being patient as the scouts found the previous clues to my backyard. Happy Boxing.
Please rehide and cover well.
