We typically make several trips south each year either to the Harrisburg area or passing through. One of the sights that helps to break up the trip is to locate the Statue of Liberty. Those not familiar with the local Statue of Liberty can look for it on an old railroad pillar in the Susquehanna River just north of Harrisburg in the Dauphin Narrows. Our oldest daughter, Fiona, always keeps an eye out for the Statue of Liberty as we pass through the area. Our letterbox tribute to this miniature replica is located in Dauphin Middle Paxton Community Park on the North side of the town of Dauphin just off of Rt 225.

After you have located the park, find the road that leads between the pool and the ball field. The day that we planted we were able to drive down the road; however, please heed all posted signs. Behind left field you will find the Veterans Monument. From the west side of the monument take 89 steps with a heading of 280°. There you should find a tree covered with vines. On the back side of the tree, under the roots you will find our tribute.

This stamp was carved by Fiona with special help from True Indigo for the image.

***This park is used and enjoyed by many people every day…please use discretion, snap box lid tightly and replace securely. Box contains stamp and log; BYO ink and pen. We use 2 units of measurement, 1 footfall = 1 step, 2 steps = 1 pace. We appreciate your comments regarding the condition of the box and its contents.***
