Hadlyme Country Store
Where is Hadlyme, you ask? It’s at the corner where Lyme and East Haddam, CT join. Find where Rte. 82 joins the end of Rte. 148 a.k.a. Ferry Rd. to take a step back in time. On the corner, in the same building as the Post Office, is an old fashioned store, recently restored. It’s a great place to get a sandwich made the way you want it, or choose from a variety of snacks. If you’ve never had maple kettle corn, you really should try it, and it’s made right in Lyme. Or just grab a cup of coffee and pair it with a fresh-baked pastry.
It even has a porch where you can sit and eat if the weather is agreeable. The river is a short drive away, down Ferry Rd. to the other end. Part of Gillette Castle State Park is there, complete with picnic tables to sit and watch the boat traffic and/or eagles. There are several boxes in the park and surrounding area.
The Hadlyme/Chester Ferry runs April-November which is Route 148 as it continues across the Connecticut River.
Clues:
For now the box is behind the counter.
Thanks, Lisa, for letting us put a box in your store.
Happy Boxing, everyone!!!
