We were in KC on business and intended to search for boxes. Unfortunately, snow and rain put a damper on that plan. So, we did the next best thing. We hid our own box right where we were! I hear that boxes in KC don't last long if they're not hidden well, but we're hoping our little box lasts a while, at least. This hunt also pays tribute to all of the fun ways to travel up and down in the city.

This box involves parking in the city. If you choose, you may use the parking garage where our hunt starts. When we were there, it was $7.00 to park. There is also parking on the street nearby. Otherwise, the most it'll take will be a handful of pennies, some ink, and a bit of nerve.
Our hunt starts near the cvionontne ctr. downtown.
Enter the dioratumui zapla garage across from the hotel named for the boy who let Genie out of the bottle. Take the down escalator near the entrance to the garage. When we were there it was stuck. If you've used the right escalator, you ought to be in the J center of the parking lot. Right in front of you is a doorway by 2J. Enter that.
Follow the green arrow. After Charlie Parker and 2 doorways, go left. Enter the elevator and touch the star for a lilting ride up.
Upon exiting, turn left and travel up a ramp to an asceltoar for another way to travel up in the city.
Pause a moment while walking on air, high above the traffic, to enjoy the view.
As you continue, you'll find a waterfall to your right. You can stop to admire it, but you'll have a closer look later on.
Continue forward toward the big chandellier. This groovy way to go down, we've dubbed the Cinderella Staircase. No sliding on the bannister, please! After our staircase, it's time to put on your stealthy feet. Nonchalantly stride past the employees wondering what you're doing. Hang a left when you get to the lobby and travel around behind/beneath the waterfall that you saw earlier. Is anybody watching? Plunk down on the ledge by the pond with your back to the lobby. Now would be a good time to engage those pennies. Make a wish!
Look to your right. There are three planters. The clue is hidden among the foliage in the bottom planter--about level with an adult's shoulder. Take your time and watch your surroundings. There are guards and employees running amok in this place!
This box requires great stealth. To log your find, go left and take the elevator to floor 7.
Take your time to rehide well. Let me know how your hunt went, and if our box is still there!
If you're enjoying yourselves, here's a really neat place to see while you're nearby: Go back across the skywalk and down the escalator. Walk past the tables and hang a left. If you keep taking the down staircases, you'll find yourselves back in time! No kidding. The lobby for the Old Huelbach hotel is burried beneath all of the new hotels. Original elevators, woodwork, and brass fixtures, and phone booths make this a fantastic place to discover or to teach the kids about the way it was 'back then'.
