My best friend is moving to Houston. That means I will be going back and forth and back and forth and back and forth from Austin to Houston. Just about right in the middle, conveniently, is Bastop. Well, we all know the essentials for a road trip are snacks and tunes. Here, in Bastrop South Shore Park I have left a part of my favorite, favorite, favorite artist, Keb'Mo, introduced to me, appropriately, by my best friend. You can check him out at Kebmo.net, or by hiking the Loblolly trail. Follow the trail behind the maintenance building, over 2 bridges, along the barbed wire fence, and past the intersection of the Swift Trail. Where the trail curves back toward the lake, take the Lake View #2 path on the left to the water's edge. When you look across, you can see the observation deck on the other side of the water. Turn back toward the main path, and on the right side is a fallen and decaying log. In the base where it stood are the tunes I have stashed, just in case I need them. Please use gloves and a stick before reaching your hand in. When done please add lots of cover so others don't find it by accident.
