Diffucutly: Easy
Distance to Mini-box: 300 yards
Status of Mini-box: Alive and Well on 8/28/08
The "Killer Whale" Mini-box is located in Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. Many other boxes are located in this park, so I will spare the park details.
Directions:
From I-45 North, go east on FM 1960. Turn left on Aldine Westfield, and go to stop light with park enterences on both sides. Turn left and go all the way to the end. Park near pavillion on right.
To the Microbox:
Find trail sign to left of pavillion. Go left on the Hawthorn Loop Trail. At junction, go straight, and count 147 steps (trail should be about to curve right. Go left, and back a little, off the trail for about 20 steps to the back side of a large pine tree. Mini-box is at back base, covered with leaves and sticks.
