Mars is the forth planet from the sun, making it the outermost terrestrial (having a rocky surface) planet. The name “Red Planet” comes from the color of its soil which is red because it contains iron oxide (rust).
Instructions for you journey:
Start at Earth (see instructions for “Home Sweet Home Planet” box). As you travel from the Earth to Mars, you will see a rather cylindrical object that’s holding a silver-colored object. At the bottom of the cylinder, on the side facing Earth, you will find a small magnetic box.
Please make sure that the lid of this magnetic box is snapped completely shut when you’re done.
