I Love ...?

I love the coast. I love my daughter. I love ... cho-co-late ... What do you love?

This stamp -- a simple, razor-cut eraser, nothing special -- is located just south of Depoe Bay in the Rocky Creek Wayside. It is easily found after a short walk across park grass; it is not buried, only camouflaged. The park has bathrooms and picnic tables, as well as beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.

DIRECTIONS FROM DEPOE BAY: Hwy 101 (southbound). Immediately past the "Whale Cove Inn", turn right into Rocky Creek. (If you miss the turn, don't panic: there is a second one a bit further.)

DIRECTIONS FROM NEWPORT: Hwy 101 (northbound) over Cape Foulweather. BE READY: Less than a quarter mile after the bottom of the hill, turn left into Rocky Creek. (If you miss the turn, you can neither legally nor safely turn into the second entrance to the wayside.)

NOTE: There are many other Letter Boxes between Depoe Bay and Newport at such locations as (from north to south) Fogarty Park, Boiler Bay, Cape Foulweather, Devil's Punchbowl, Beverly Beach, and more. Find them all!

CAUTION: Much of the shoreline of Rocky Creek lacks safety barriers. Please watch children and pets.

Finding the stamp:

1. Park in the northern part of the wayside.
2. Follow the paved footpath toward the bathrooms.
3. At the State Park sign, stop.
4. Turn left. View the ocean. Ain't it purty?
5. Note the "forest" to your left front.
6. Walk to the sea, with the forest on your left.
7. STOP near the end of the grass.
8. Enjoy the view. Still purty, ain't it?
9. Had your fill? (Took me quite a while, too!)
10. Look down into the bushes near your left.
11. You will see a camouflaged container.
12. That’s it!
13. When no one is spying you, get it.
14. Read, stamp, enjoy, comment ... whatever.
15. Tell me (and others) what YOU love.
16. Re-hide the box.
17. Don't forget to enjoy the other view points.

Thank you for visiting my Letter Box. I will have many more posting in the very near future. I'm addicted! Please, please, please ... let me know what you think about my boxes. Good, boring, missing, nice views ...
