Okay, slackerboxers, this one doesn’t even require you leave your car. Go to the drive-up window (or go inside; the place is charming and comfortable, with board games placed strategically on coffee tables) at The Laguna Cafe on Spokane’s South Hill. From I-90, take the Freya/Thor exit and head south on Thor (which eventually becomes Ray) to 29th Avenue. Take a right on 29th, and soon after, turn left on Regal. The Laguna Cafe is at 44th and Regal, in the same mini-mall as Twigs martini bar and Maggie Moo’s ice cream joint.
You must order a drink, and tell the nice barista (hereafter known as N.B.), “I’d like a letterbox with that.” When the N.B. gives you your drink and the letterbox, drive away or go to one of their bistro tables or comfy couches. Sip and stamp at your leisure, and immediately return the box to the N.B.
One warning: The easiest way for this box to get muggled would be for you to let other customers hear you say the “secret password.” Be discreet! (You might also be discrete, but your math habits are none of my business.)
