Well, this box has again gone missing. I guess the ghost doesn't like Jacob for some reason. It's been retired.

This box was replaced 2-28-08 and put in a new location. The old one was confiscated by the Ghost of Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Ghost, please have mercy on this new box.

"And he (Jacob) dreamed and behold a ladder set up on the earth and the top of it reached the heavens and behold the angels of God were ascending and descending on it."
Genesis 28:11-22

Getting there:
This letterbox is at the Oakwood Cemetery, Austin’s, oldest and largest cemetery, located at 1601 Navasota Street in Austin, Texas. If you are coming from San Antonio on I-35, take exit 235A (15th/MLK), get into far right lane of the feeder road. Take a right onto 16th St. The street dead-ends into Navasota at the entrance to the cemetery.

To the box:
Drive through the gate and look for the large monument on the right with the name "Zilker" on it. It's the last road before you get to the street that runs through the cemetery. Park there and walk down the road to your right. You will soon see, on the left, a huge oak tree with a hole in the trunk about 5 feet off the ground. The box is in the hole, covered with leaves and sticks. Please replace the cover so that the box can't be seen by passerbys or curious ghosts.
