Time: ~20-30 minutes depending on season and trail conditions

Terrain: Hilly trail with relatively gradual incline/decline. Gravel/dirt path.

Starting point: From I-70, take exit 259. Go south about 0.1 miles and turn east into the Park-n-Ride parking lot named after a dinosaur with distinctive tail spikes and plates.

Do you think this stamp might have something to do with carpentry? Or perhaps dinosaurs? You’ll have to find the box to find out! We had hoped to plant this box further west of Denver, but due to heavy snow had to choose a location closer to town. This box commemorates our nephew Tyler’s exploits.

In the south end of the lot, near the entrance, you’ll find a sign identifying a trail to the “ruasoniD egdiR rotpaR noitargiM noitatS”. Follow the arrow, pass thru a gate. At another gate follow the arrow UP! Pass the Danger, and when you reach another Danger stop. Take 50 steps along the trail until you reach a tree with 8+ trunks on the left. The Board Stud rests under a small rock in the midst of the trunks. After stamping in, please place the box back in the nest of rocks to be sure it isn’t visible from the trail.

Retrace your steps to return to your vehicle OR continue on to find Speed Queen…

Since we don’t live in the area, status reports would be greatly appreciated!

Hike length: 0.5 miles
