Champlain South The Birds

Spring has sprung and the birds are happy . Two have been spotted at Champlain south
See *NOTE* - on April 7 , 2008 , Sweet Pea reported the White Trail Blaze now has a Red Dot *

Begin this nice hike by entering the preserve at the End of Meetinghouse Lane . Follow the main trail , pass by a trail on the right and left and keep walking until you come to an intersection with an Information Board Leave the main trail and take the unmarked trail on the right. It goes down hill and soon you will cross a small stream using the cut logs . After crossing the stream , turn right onto the White Trail,[*NOTE* on April 7 2008 , Sweet Pea reported that the white trail blaze now has a red dot in the center . ] which soon goes UP UP UP past lovely rocks and ledges . As the trail levels off and you stand on a large flat rock , look left for a big rock with a crack in it . The Mountain Bluebird stopped here for a rest just before another steep climb . Please cover the box well as it is right next to the trail .
This is a lovely trail and you will enjoy the trees and rocks as you travel in and out of Cedar Groves where you may spot a few pine trees and a huge boulder The trail takes a few sharp turns but is blazed and well traveled
The Early Bird has found a little nest in a tiny cave . in a small gather of stones . When you step down , look right and move one rock to find this hungry Early Bird . She is right on the trail and needs to be covered well with her little trap door.

Continue along the White trail and you might notice a green thumb shaking at you and before you know it , your car will be in view.

Hope your hike was fun
Smile
