The "Safari Man- On The Highway/ and Interstate" series depicts things
one might see as they drive the highways of the U.S. These are targeted
mainly for rest stops but might pop up anywhere. This letterbox is titled
BAD TO THE BONE. Happy traveling!

Clues:(Note: There is another Box on the opposite side of this interstate at this mm. Reference N. Carolina clues for it)
Traveling northbound on I-77 leaving North Carolina and entering Virginia, stop in the Welcome to Virginia Rest stop on the state line. Enter the Car parking area and go to the pet exercise Fenced corral on the left side and park in front or near it. [8/8/2011 A finder's notes for finding the box - if you go to the clearing where the dog corral used to be (clearing starts at about 28th parking space on the left) and go to the 'L' tree, you can spot the fallen tree from there, then follow the rest of the clues.]

Proceed around the outside of this fence and go to the center of the back fence and stand with your back to the fence.(NOTE: Fireman wrote and informed me that the fence around the pet area has been removed. Good luck finding this one)(NOTE; Yellow Butterfly suggested: FOUND!! The fireman was correct, but if you use the doggy pooh station and add about 10 steps it is perfect! Thank you! Yellow Butterfly) Walk straight ahead 13 steps and stop before running into the tree. Look right for a fallen tree and walk the length of it to its, rooted/out of the ground, end. Walk around the uprooted end to the dirt side and with your back to the dirt side look between 1 and 3 o'clock for two medium trees out there before reaching the clearing before the road. Making sure you are unobserved, go look behind the right hand tree of the two, in the split in the base. There I hope you find Bad to the Bone. Find a place to do the stamping and please, please reseal the zippers to the baggies completely since the pouch is not water proof. When done stamping, please replace the pouch where and as found and when time permits, please let me know the condition of the letterbox and any other comments you might have.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. Cheers, Safari Man
