Boulder Lookout - Longleaf Pine Trail
Difficulty: Easy
FD Roosevelt State Park

Find the Information Center on Hwy 190, a stone building that includes a ranger station where you can reserve a nearby stone cottage or camping site. Pay your $3 to park and find the steps leading from the ampitheater to the trailhead of the Pine Mountain Trail. At the trail markers you will turn left onto Longleaf Trail going toward King's Gap. After a short walk down the trail, you will see a power line that goes over the trail and down the mountain side. Go approximately 30 paces past the power line and you will see a short path on the right which leads to a "boulder lookout". At the end of the path is a natural "boulder bench". A pine tree is immediately to the right of the "bench". Look below the "bench" and remove the rocks to find the letterbox. Sit and enjoy the view. Please replace the rocks so that the letterbox doesn't show.

Bonus: Longleaf Snail Trail letterbox is nearby.
