In 1798 Joshua Ewing was awarded this land in honor of being the first white settler in Union County. Located on the banks of the Big Darby Creek, this land was used in later years as a roadside rest area for travelers that were traveling between Cincinnai and Cleveland. Still today, you can stop and take a break, admire the Big Darby and even grill a hotdog!

"Old Green Pump" is located at the corner of Rt. 42 and Rt. 736 north of Plain City, Ohio. From Rt. 161 go north on Rt. 42 and turn left on Rt. 736. You will immediately see the roadside rest area on the left. You will see three picnic tables and charcoal grills. Locate the middle table and in the right corner under the concrete pad is a big tree root. There you will find "Old Green Pump". When leaving, you can even get a drink from the green pump located at this rest area. For best results, bring a green stamp pad along.
