The Company Owned Letterbox is located in Scotia, California which is right off Hwy 101. The town has a fascinating history some of which can be accessed at Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Lumber_Company

PALCO, which presently owns the town filed for bankruptcy in January, 2007. PALCO has been embroiled in lawsuits for some time owing to its timber practices and fundamental disagreements with environmentalists resulting in restrictions placed on timber harvesting operations. Scotia is one of the last of the country’s wholly owned company towns and is rumored to be for sale.

Addendum: Scotia was a whole was sold. Bits of it are again for sale as it weathers this new transition.

To find the Company Owned Letterbox take the freeway exit into Scotia and find the museum. Park. Walk to the south side of the museum and find the three large black dinosaurs. Locate the Duplex Flyer and approach with caution on its south side. There’s a wall surrounding the old dinosaur. Go to the wall’s southwest corner. Count 74 units east. Stand on that 74th unit facing the dinosaur. The magnetic letterbox is in front of you. It’s about four feet up and a couple feet reach in. Reach behind and around.

Please close the box carefully and tightly; it's magnetic, so make sure it's secure. The museum is pretty interesting, but not consistently open. Hope you can see it.
