When I was a kid, my friends and I were always daring each other to do something a little scary or dangerous, and not wanting to appear chicken we usually did it. But every once in a while we were dared to do something we just weren't quite up to trying and it took a little more encouragement. This is when the Double Dog Dare was used, and it immediately upped the stakes. A person had the choice of being really chicken if he backed down, or earning double respect by performing the deed, possibly getting a few broken bones in the process. I'm not sure where this phrase comes from, but I do know where this box dedicated to it is located. It is in the Double Lake Recreation Area and was placed for the Dog Days At Double Lake Event held on March 30, 2008. So come enjoy a great park and find this box along with many others. I Double Dog Dare Ya!

Directions:
Double Lake Recreation Area is in the Sam Houston National Forest near the town of Coldspring. From Houston, take Hwy 59 to Cleveland, then take the Coldspring exit to County Road 2025 and go north about 16 miles. Turn right into the park, pay the day use fee and proceed, keeping right, to the parking area at the end of the road near the pavilion.

Clues:
From parking area, go right on asphalt to the restrooms, then continue walking behind them on a dirt path about 50 yards to a 5-way intersection behind the amphitheater. Go right on the wide dirt path about 100 steps to a stump on the right. Continue 10 more steps and look left for a long log laying next to a small stump 9 steps off trail. The camo letterbox is behind the log about 3 feet from the stump under sticks and leaves. Please re-cover well.
