HUNTING:
Hemlock Hills and Pine Mountain Open Spaces are closed to the public for firearms hunting from Nov 19 through Dec 23, 2008, except during the Thanksgiving weekend. The town will probably hold such a hunting season again in 2009.

Bow hunting is permitted in adjoining Bennett’s Pond State Park from Sept 15, 2008, through Jan 31, 2009. During this time the park is not closed to the public, but hikers are advised to wear bright colors.

From the overlook on Pine Mountain where Charles Ives' cabin may have stood, go to the large perched boulder at 350 degrees. From the large boulder go seven steps at 160 degrees and look under a low ledge.

Rehide very carefully! Make sure it can not be seen from any angle.
