ATTENTION: Currently the Riverboat Box is unavailable because of flooding in that park.
Also the Canoe Box will not be available on the 4th of July because of the cities
4th of July celebration. The box would have been right next to craft vendors
and would have been in danger of going missing.

This is a 4 box series in the City of Omro. All of the boxes are very easy finds. The only tricky part will be figuring out which park they are at. There will be some simple math problems along the way. The river that runs through Omro has provided settlements for the early native americans, transportation for the riverboats and recreation for many people through the years.

There are 4 parks in the city of Omro. They are all located on the river that runs through Omro, so please be careful if you are bring small children.

Here are the hints to figure out which clues go with what parks.

1.White Bass Letterbox location.... This park shares it name with a beverage maker from Milwaukee.

2. Riverboat Letterbox location.... You may have a male friend with this name, it can also be a last name.

3. Canoe Letterbox location.... You may have had a teacher that was strict or "------"s.

4. Tod & Copper Letterbox location.... This park shares it's name with a Disney Movie and shares part of it's name with the river that runs through Omro.

Whitebass Letterbox. My father and I used to fish whitebass in this park every spring, so I thought that is would be fun to put a box here. It is located one block off of Main Street/Highway 21.

Clues: Park in the parking lot near the playground equipment. Look to the north and you will see a boat launch and a penisula leading to the river. Walk out on the penisula and count the permanent benches. A=____.

Now head back to the playground equipment. Count the number of slides and animals. B=____.

Now walk over to the Kiwanis Shelter. Count the numbers of support posts for the shelter. C=_____.

Go to the northeast corner of the shelter. A+B=____ X C____= D___. D is the bearing you will take to the row of large cottonwood trees in the middle of the park. When you get to the cottonwood trees head east towards the last multi trunk tree in the row. If you go more then 60 paces you have went to far.

Count the number of trunks on the large tree. E=____.

E___X27=F___. F is the bearing you will take from the large multi trunk tree towards the creek on the east side of the park.

Before you get to the creek you will see a large tree with large limps broke off of it. The whitebass is hiding in the northeast corner of the stump.

Please rehide well and cover with bark and branches.

Riverboat Letterbox. This is the easiest park to find because it is located on Main Street/Highway 21.

You can park on the street. Park just before the handicap signs in front of the Veterans Memorial. Take a moment to visit the Memorial if you would like.

Now head towards the small wooden bridge leading to the park. Stop and read the information about Historical Omro. What year did Charles Omreau establish this community. A=____.

Cross over the small wooden bridge and stop. Add up the 4 numbers from A=B____. B X 3= C____. C is the bearing you will head towards the river. Stop at the seawall. Look across the river and you will see one of the parks you will be visiting soon. Please do not try to swim across the river to get there.

Now head east along the seawall counting the permanent benches as you go. The number of benches will = D____.

When you get to the last bench take D X 30= this the bearing you will take towards a large fat pine tree. On the south side of the pine tree is an electrical box, kneel down and reach behind the electrical box to find the Riverboat.

This is a heavily used park in the summer so be discreet.

Canoe Letterbox. You will want to continue west on Main Street to find the next park. Like your teacher always said " eyes straight ahead" when you think you should be turning. If you go over the bridge, turn around and come back, take a right.

Park in the parking lot near the horseshoe pits. From the parking lot go to the fifth horseshoe pit. Count all the the horseshoe pits, A=____.

Take a bearing of A___. Walk toward the gazebo. When you get to the small stone path go west. Head towards the small shelter. Count the number of support posts for the shelter, B=___. Follow the stone path to the blacktop access road. Now take B X 30= the bearing to take on the blacktop access road. You be walking toward the Omro Volunteer Fire Department. Stop when you get to the road and look to your right, there will be another park sign. Go around to the back of the sign, the railroad timber holds your Canoe.

Please rehide well. This is not a great hiding place, but was the only one I could find.

Tod & Copper Letterbox. This one may be the trickiest park to find because I am not going to tell how to get there. Remember you saw it earlier in the day from across the river.

When you find the park, park near the boat launch. Count the number of posts on the dock. A=____.

Now head over to the wooden playground equipment. Count the number of bars of the monkey bars. B=____.

Standing at the north side of the equipment near the monkey bars take A___ X 4= number of paces to take north. Stop here and take B___ X 27 = bearing to take next.

Go 47 paces at that bearing, crossing both roads into the park. You will notice a big tree with a large limp broken off another 15 pace in the woods. This would have been a great place for Tod to hide, but the hollow was alittle to deep to reach to get the box in and out of. So now you have to do same more counting. Count all of the old fashion street lights in the park. C=___.

Take C___X 6 =____. Take that many paces towards the park rules sign. Stop and look at the bottom of the City of Omro Fox River Boating Regulations. Add up all the numbers that are on the bottom of the sign. D___. D____+ 100= the bearing you will need to find the last box. At that bearing you will see a big twisted tree just off the path. At the north corner of the stump you will see a stone that looks a little bit like Wisconsin, reach into the stump and pull out Tod & Copper.

Please rehide well with sticks and bark. Hope you enjoyed the parks of Omro.
