From Spruce Brook Road in Berlin make your way to Lamentation Drive. Park at the trailhead where there is room for a couple of cars.

Things You Can Do On Mount Lamentation:

From trailhead follow blue blazes for a while until the trail starts to head uphill. Just as you start up the hill, look to your left for a large fallen tree between two trees. At the root end you will find the Hiking Letterbox.

Continue on blue for quite a while until you cross your second woods road. At that point you will go up an incline where you will see the first of many wonderful views. Take the unmarked trail off to the right towards a large rock outcrop. As you head to the outcrop you will see a fallen log on the right just before it. Look inside for box number two, Bird Watching.

Back out on blue you go, trudging along and enjoying the views until you come to a long roundish rock ledge on your right, right next to the trail. There should be a woodpecker delight on top if you are at the correct place. Before you step on the ledge look low in the southwest corner by a Shagbark Hickory for Mount Lamentation.

You can continue on blue to Giuffrida Park or turn around and go back the way you came.

Have fun!
