These boxes were placed to give you a sampling of six of the trails in this area. The area is open to hunting during certain times of the year so use safety precautions at those times. Pets must be on a leash.
To get to the trailhead: take US322 west from Harrisburg to exit PA225 north; follow 225 north to Camp Hebron Road and turn right; after 2.8 miles bear right onto a curvy road; after .9 miles bear right along creek and continue .2 miles before bearing left; in .7 miles you'll turn right into the park entrance
Box #1 Park at the info sign; start at the red blazed trail; at the first T go left; stay on red to a Y; take the right fork (green blaze) up the hill; halfway up look for a tree with the bark missing from the bottom and a pile of rocks at the base; standing between the rocks, go 6 paces at 120 degrees; the box is in the center of 5 large trees.
Box #2 Continue on green; near the top of the hill go LEFT on the lavender trail; stay to the right on the lavender; at the Y take the right fork up the hill; at the next Y you will go left but before taking the left fork look for a tee with multiple blazes; from that tree go due north for 8 steps; the box is in front of a short stump to the right of a larger tree.
Box #3 Return to the trail and go up the hill; at the "crossroad", go right onto the beige trail; continue downhill (Yea!) to a large standing stone on the left side of the trail; with your back to the stone, go straight ahead 7 paces; the box is on the right side of the tree hidden by SPOR.
Box #4 Continue on the beige trail; at a 5-way crossing, go straight toward the traffic signal blaze; at the fork go left on the yellow blaze; continue on yellow turning right at the next fork; look for a tall straight pine tree on the right and a tree growing out of a mossy mound on the left; the box is on the NW side of the tree covered by bark and other forest debris.
Box #5 Continue on yellow and downhill; look for a small tan building on the right; go onto the pink trail and at the T turn left and uphill for 33 paces; looking between twin trees on the left notice a Y tree; the box is behind the Y tree hidden by a SPOR.
Box #6 Return to the tan building; from the front of the building turn left onto the red trail; at the T follow the trail to the right and continue awhile past homes on the left; after passing a black gate on the left look for a large old stump 9 steps off the path on the right; the box is at the left side under a SPOR.
Continue on the path - the parking lot is just ahead.
Hope you had luck finding all the boxes.
There are no ink pads - BYO, black is fine.
A step is one footfall, a pace is 2 steps.
