Come to Kennebunk and take your chances
under the watchful eye of Saint Francis
From Route One take Route Nine toward Kennebunkport. This turn is about half way between Kennebunk and Wells. It's a right coming from the south and a left from the north.
Proceed to the second traffic light and take a right. (Beach Ave.)
You will know what you are looking for when you see it.
Turn left through the big stone gates, then bear right to the main parking lot. Park and take the path to the right of the ginko tree. Walk past the fiddler, the dog, and the rhodedendrums. Take the first left path after taking three steps down.
Take this path to the river to the pilings left from the old gazebo. Admire the gorgeous view.
Turn around and take a path to the right just before the blue shrine on a tree. You will go over two bridges, and soon will see some fallen birches on your left.
Look a little beyond them for a fairy castle. Stand on the trail and look between the two spires. You will spot a large smooth tree, behind which is what you are seeking.
To enjoy the rest of the trail, continue on to the black top path, take a right and continue around the entire loop for a scenic view of the harbor and boats.

I am so glad that someone notified me of the missing box!!I had no idea they were doing so much digging up over there.
