2/18/18 - I've been told the road is open to cars again.
---------------------------------------
9/1/12 - Note: Don't know when it happened but the bridge is closed to cars. You can park and walk across or find your way around to the other side of the river. To do that you have to go down to Rt 112 and take Dugway Rd.

While seeking out The Falls Village Bridge Letterbox, we noticed a trail and took it. It goes to a beautiful area along the river, although it’s probably very wet when the river is high. We found a dry spot to plant a box along the way.

Directions: With thanks to puglovers, I’m “borrowing” their directions to the parking spot.

Heading south on Route 7 turn right at the yellow blinking light. (The Torrington Savings Bank will be on your left.) Go past The Kellogg School (on your left) and bear left going into the center of Falls Village. Go to the end of Main Street...that will not take long! Go right and then take an immediate left under the old train trestle. Once you have passed under the trestle take an immediate right. You will go down a small hill toward the Falls Village Power Plant. (The power plant will be on your left.) Continue on and drive over the bridge near the power plant. As soon as you cross the bridge pull into the turn around area that is on your right.

Clues: After you find and log the Falls Village Bridge Box, head down the trail following the white blazes. Before you get to the water, the trail curves to the left and up the hill. Just before the “stairs” look to the left for the stone wall. Go to the far end and look about half way up and to the right of 3 flat rocks.
