The Bulldog is the school mascot of every school in the Burkburnett Independent School District. Go Paw Pride! The high school, located southwest of downtown Burkburnett, boasts a faculty of 90 teachers instructing a very diverse student population in academic and extracurricular disciplines. This is the only high school in the Burkburnett Independent School District.
Many kids from the Burkburnett schools have played music on the stage of the outdoor amphitheater in the town. It is a spot of fun and entertainment for many throughout the year.
To the box!: Burkburnett is close to the Red River at the intersection of Interstate Highway 44 and State Highway 240, ten miles north of Wichita Falls in north central Wichita County.
Taking I-44 E from Wichita Falls towards Burkburnett, look for exit #11/Daniels Road (FM-3429). Take that exit and go to the stop sign, turn left. Continue on that road as it curves to the right. You will come to a curve to the left where you will have the option of crossing a railroad track and continuing straight into a residential area. Cross the tracks. You are now on Cropper Road. Continue on Cropper Road until it curves to the left. Be careful on this curve as it is hard to see around. Once you come around the curve, continue until you can turn right onto Davey Drive. Continue on this road until you come to the 4th parking lot entrance on your left side. Turn into this parking lot.
Park in front of the United Friendship Amphitheater in the last possible parking spot on the left. Take the stairs on your left. Continue walking on the left side of the building approximately 17 steps, turn to your right and walk across the stage. Exit stage right. Turn to your left and walk down the ramp with hand rails. Turn to your right and walk through the doorway. Walk to ‘T’ in the sidewalk. Turn right. Walk to the ‘U’. Box is under the 1st bush under the ‘U’.
