UPDATE 12/28/08 - SORRY, this box appears to have been stolen. There has been a lot of vandalism/drinking by teens in this area recently. We will try to relocate and place another box in an area that is not a "teen" hangout. The area is still a beautiful place if you'd like to visit it.

Directions to Meadowbrook Conservation Area on Millvale Road, Haverhill, MA.
From Rte 495 take exit#52, Rte 110 East. Follow Rte 110 for 1 mile, take a right onto Middle Road (the road sign is often missing so look for the sign for the Children of Israel cemetary in the shape of an arrow, and the signs for Turkey Hill Farm). Go under the highway overpass, past the cemetary on your left. You'll see an entrance to the Meadowbrook Conservation Area on your left - THIS IS NOT THE ENTRANCE THAT YOU WANT. Continue past the old church on your right. At the fork in the road, go left onto Millvale Road (it may not have a road sign). Just ahead on the left is the entrance to Meadowbrook Conservation Area that you want (you'll see a glimpse of the reservoir, and you'll see the brick pump house). You can park on the side of the road and walk in.

WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS LETTERBOX DURING DEER HUNTING SEASON !!!! Deer hunting is allowed in this park.

This is a beautiful area, and it will take you only about 5-10 minutes to reach the area where the letterbox is - BUT the path is steep in places, and slippery with pine needles and leaves. Wear good hiking shoes. You may want bug spray. When you get home - check for ticks!

Proceed down the paved area
Walk toward the water.
Just before the water, on the left,
is a path up a hill. - Should you take it? You ought ta.
Follow the path until a fork is in your sight,
To keep toward the water, you must take a right.
Follow the path straight out until you almost reach the point.
Where would someone hide a letterbox in this joint?
A blue oval marks the spot that you seek,
In a hole in a tree you must take a peek.

Please return the letterbox exactly as you found it, so that the next person may enjoy it as much as you have. If you care to tour the rest of the conservation area, there are often maps available near the entrance. Remember, there is no swimming allowed, as this is a reservoir for drinking water. Enjoy the beauty!
