Driving Directions
Church Address: 1712 Smithland Rd. Harrisonburg, VA. 22802
Pass exit # 245 Port Republic Road, Harrisonburg, Va. 81 Northbound. Proceed north on 81 take exit # 251 at the end of the exit ramp take a left onto Valley Pike (Rt. 11 south). Follow the road for approximately 1.5 miles you will pass the Bar-B-Q ranch on your right and after that you will pass Harpers Lawn Ornaments on the left. Turn left on Smithland Rd. (the road sign is on the right). Follow the road for approximately 1 mile. You will come to a fork in the road. Continue to the left. Drive across the bridge crossing the interstate; the church parking lot is immediately on the left.

Pull into the parking lot you will see the Ten Commandments plaque on the front steps. (The United Methodist Church is the largest sponsor of scouting units in the United States.)
1.) Take the pathway around the front of the church. (You may see the sign w/ the Reverend Glen Langston’s name on it.)
2.) Follow the hill until you are at the cross wrapped in a white cloth.
3.) Go straight towards the row of pine trees.
4.) Walk across the driveway towards the 2 gateposts. (be careful on the hill).
5.) When you have reached this point you will see a fence line on your right hand side. (Beyond that fence there is a quarry. It is the quarry with the rocks that they used to make interstate 81.)
6.) Follow this fence line towards the swing set.
7.) Behinds the swing you will see a pile of dirt; walk towards it.
8.) Go to the fence, when you get there turn to your left.
9.) There will be a red building in front of you. Walk towards the building.
10.) Walk behind the building beside the fence on your right.
11.) After you have passed the building you will see a driveway on your left, walk down the driveway until you have reached the gate posts.
12.) Turn around; you will see a graveyard on a hill.
13.) Walk towards the cemetery fence.
14.) Walk to the far left corner of the fence.
15.) You will notice two big rocks at the corner on the ground. (The main type of rock in the Shenandoah Valley is limestone.)
16.) Walk between the fence and the pine tree to your right.
17.) Follow the fence all the way to the end; the fence should be on your right side at this time.
18.) At the end of the fence there is a row of trees perpendicular to the fence.
19.) There is a tree stump on your left walk straight from it to the trees right in front of the stump. You should find it in those trees.

When you get to the church, go to the front and on the left side of the steps there is a sign of the 10 commandments. The United Methodist Church is a Protestant denomination which seeks to create disciples for Christ through outreach, evangelism, and through seeking holiness through the process of Sanctification. Go to the right of the sign towards the cross in the front of the church. Multiply 6 times 2 and take that many steps to the big pine tree. Walk across the driveway to the 2 poles there. Theres a possibility of maybe seeing the Reverend Glen Langston Walk up to the fence towards the swing set. Skip to the big pile of dirt. Spin in circles towards the fence, be careful! Run as fast ad you can to the red building. But watch out, because you might see one of the United Methodist Church practices of baptizing infants and adults. Baptism means to become processing members through conformation. Sneak behind the little red building. Walk down the driveway to your left to the 2 little posts. Spin around 10 times until your back is to the parking lot. While your spinning think about how the United Methodist Church’s sponsor the local Boy and Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and venture crews. Walk towards the graveyard. Go to the left corner of the fence. Walk along the fence until you’re at a tree stump in the ground. Stand at the gate to go into the graveyard. Walk into the trees to your right. It will be near the fence. Congratulations you found it!! Good Job!!!
