Checked on the boxes today and the first box is in good shape. The second, however, is another story. The hiding place is covered with brush - probably poison ivy - and I have received reports of a large critter living in the hole. So, I didn't get real close and am marking this one unavailable.

Checked on the boxes today and had to make a couple of changes to the clues.
Box 1 is now in the other corner. Clues have been updated.
We were not able to check on Box 2 because it was too overgrown. So you either need to be very adventurous or wait till the fall or winter. Let me know what you find.

Directions: You’re looking for Laurel Hill Cemetery. From northbound Rt 5/10 (between exits 25 and 26 of I 91) in Deerfield, turn right on Depot Rd. (It’s across the street from the Memorial Hall Museum which is red.) Go right on Pine Nook and through a narrow railroad overpass bridge then up hill to the left. Turn left at the cemetery sign, drive through the gate and around till you see the petrified snowball. Park.

Clues: Now look down the hill to your right. There’s a whole different world down there. Take some time to wander around and read the inscriptions. There are some interesting hyphenations and some interesting inscriptions. The slate stones have held up a lot better than others. [And don’t forget to notice the great trees!] Unfortunately, several of the old trees are now gone. What a shame.

For the first box, head straight down to the wall along the railroad tracks and turn right. Go to the corner and look behind the third stone left of the corner. Here you will find Pushing Up Daisies #53.

After stamping in and rehiding, head back up the track looking for Billings. When you are parallel to it, go left to the big tree. Go around to the other side and look in the hole in the claw for the Moody Butterfly under the butterfly wing shaped?? bark. The butterfly wanted to stay just down the road at the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory and Gardens but couldn’t find a good home there. This stamp was carved in Nigeria and is made out of wood. It doesn’t always hold ink very well so ink it well.

Beware of poison ivy.

Reduce, reuse, recycle – I’ve received many comments lately about the types of boxes I use. Use your imagination, look around you and especially in the trash. You’ll probably find many things that could be used as “boxes”.
