Enter on left side of the Old First Church. Follow the path to Robert Frost's grave. On your left will be 6 bushes that surround a stone that says: "In memory of all Veterans" Behind the stone in the center of the stone buried under 4 inches of mulch is the Green Mountain Boys Box. The stone that faces this box says: Around this stone lie buried, many patriots who fell in the battle of Bennington on August 16, 1777. Here also rest Brittish soldiers, Hessians, who died from wounds after the battle as captives. They were confined in the First Meeting House built in Vermont, which stood on the green west of this burying ground.
In the this cemetery is also Josiah Manning carved stones. The poet, Robert Frost lived in the area and is buried here. Many Revolutionary Soldiers are buried here. The sign on your left as you enter will guide you to many interesting sites in the cemetery.
