From Four Corners, 9 miles west of Bozeman, take Highway 191 south toward the Gallatin Canyon. Drive 16.6 miles to Spire Rock Campground on the left. There is also a sign for Storm Castle. That is the road to turn on.Turn left, cross the bridgeover the Gallatin River and turn right. Continue 6.7 miles to Rat Lake Trail head parking area. Along the way are two road forks-take the right fork both times. From Big Sky, Squaw Creek Road is 17.2 miles north on Highway 191.

From the parking area, a loop with a small sign that says trail, take the trail and head south. At .3 miles is a trail Juction, take the right leading to Rat Lake.

You've made it to Rat Lake, to find the treasure.
1.Stop and rest by the campfire spot.
2.Carefully balance your way across the big log.
3.Turn right and go to the rocky ledge that overlooks the lake.
4.There are 3 young pine trees that the Three Bears use as a landmark when hiking Rat Lake.
5.The tresure is near there.
6. Be sure to stamp the book and rehide it in the same place. We will pick up the box at the end of the summer. Happy treasure hunting. Hike=1.5 miles round trip. Easy for kids.
