From Rt. 290 take exit 24 towards Boylston.

Go straight on Chruch Street, which turns into Central Street, which turns into French Drive. If you reach the blinking lights, you've gone too far (but only a little bit!)

Turn right off of French Drive into Tower Hill Botanic Garden.

Stop at the Ticket Booth where you will obtain maps and brochures on the garden.

Drive up Fuller Drive (the street you pulled into) until you arrive at the top of the hill.

You may park in the Visitor's Parking area.

Walk up the steps and go through the Pavillion.

Cross the street and enter the building to your left which is called the Stoddard Education and Visitor's Center.

Follow the hallway to the end. You may make a detour to visit the Orangerie to your right.

At the end of the hallway, go through the doors to the outside. Notice a view of Washusett Reservoir on your left.

Enter Pliny's Allee straight ahead (a 300-fott path lined with 10 pairs of oak trees).

You may detour from the Allee to see the Systematic Garden on your right and then return to Pliny's Allee.

At the end of the Allee, turn left at a rocky circular area and continue following the path up the hill.

Visit Belvedere Overlook on your left for a wonderful view of Mt. Wachusett and Wachusett Reservoir.

Return to the "Rough Trail" to Tower Hill Summit.

Take the right fork of the Summit loop.

Notice the plaque for "Tower hill and Triangulation Point for Surverying Washusett Reservoir" on your left. This plaque was placed in honor of the "Wachusett Watershed Centennial Celebration," coordinated by the 2005 Tahanto Envirothon Team. CDs with an originial song composed for this occasionby the Envirothon Team are available at the Boylston Historical Society.

Continue to the top of the hill where there is a bench facing the Reservoir. Sit and enjoy the view.

While you are sitting on the bench, notice a flat rock to the right. The letterbox is hidden under it.

Please replace the letterbox carefully!

Continue to follow the loop around the summit and retrace your steps to the Gardens. Can you find the Secret Garden? Enjoy the other trails at Tower Hill. Have a cup of teach at Twigs Cafe!
