CELEBRATE : Summer Vacation
PLANTED: May 30 2008
TOWN: Ridgely
Hooray, school’s out, the buses are parked, and the kiddies are off to summer camp. Time to kick back in the pool and be a serious lounge lizard! I promise to take all the empty bottles to be recycled.

Straddling Queen Anne’s County and Caroline County – the Campground Entrance is on Cherry Lane It can be map’d from the intersection of Crouse Mill Rd and Cherry Ln.

Check the Park web site for access; because the campground gate is closed during winter months and the walk in will be a little longer.

At the first junction turn right and look for the gravel parking area on the left and in front of Land of the Lore Nature Trail.

Head on in. Follow the descriptive sign posts as the path twists and turns. When you reach the American hornbeam Blue Beech you’ll find a tree with dark grey, smooth bark that is sometimes called “musclewood” because of the rippled and sinewy appearance of the trunk. Take 24 steps at 192 degrees and look into the base of a large 3 arm’d tree.

NOTE: Clue is posted early for printing; however, the box will not be planted until May 30 and the start of CELEBRATE – another Camp’n’ Stamp’n’ – 2008.
